Avocado Toast with Garlic Mushrooms

Hands down the easiest, tastiest and healthiest breakfast ever!

'Avocado with Garlic Mushrooms' on Sourdough.

The avocado is simply mashed with salt and pepper while the mushrooms are stir fried in garlic and olive oil at low heat.

You could use gluten-free bread if you wish or settle for a sourdough which is easier to digest than other kinds of bakers bread. So good!

Can you believe I had never tasted an Avocado Toast before?

Bread is not or rather never for breakfast, so this combination always escaped my palate for years. This post is not really a recipe, but just a reminder that a simple combination like this can be divine too. Crushed avocados on gluten-free bread topped with mushrooms and garlic sauteed in butter tastes just so good. Topped with pepper/ paprika with a glass of beetroot juice just seems so right!

Avocado Toast with Garlic Mushrooms

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Cooking time: 10 minutes

1 big or 2 small ripe avocados

4 slices of gluten-free/sourdough bread

1 cup sliced mushrooms

1 teaspoon chopped garlic

4 teaspoons butter

Salt and pepper/paprika to taste


  1. Heat a pan, add 2 teaspoons of butter and garlic.

  2. Cook briefly and add the sliced mushrooms.

  3. Season with salt and pepper.

  4. Toast the bread in a griller.

  5. Spread the butter on the toast.

  6. Mash avocado in a bowl.

  7. Add salt and pepper.

  8. Top the bread with mashed avocado and garlic mushrooms.

  9. Crush extra black pepper to serve.
